The Scarlet Letters

Share the Truth in Love

The words of Jesus.

The red words in your Bible.

The words He spoke during his time on earth.

The words that eventually led to His shed blood on the cross.

The words that are still so relevant and so vital to followers of Jesus, they cannot be ignored.

The words, the ONLY words, that offer salvation.

When I started this ministry, I had one main goal; to point people to Jesus. The best way I can do that is to learn for myself what he said and also tell others what He said.

So many times I’ve read Scripture and it didn’t sink in. I didn’t understand it or often, I understood it through the lens of past preachers and teachers. Sometimes what I read for myself didn’t quite match what I was hearing from the pulpit, but with a lot of extra ideas and commentary added to the scriptures, it kind of made sense. I guess. But I really wanted to know what Jesus said and what He meant by what He said. No extra fluff. No commentaries where the ideas of men could taint or misconstrue the words of Jesus. No preconceived notions. Just the words.

You know, the novel, The Scarlet Letter, was loosely based on real history. I haven’t read it since Freshman year in high school, but I do remember the main idea. The woman was branded. There was a time and a place where people really did wear a letter as punishment to publicly brand them of their sin. Well, I wanted to take that idea and turn it on its head, much like I’m doing with everything I’ve ever learned about the Bible.

Coming from a marketing background, I know the power of branding. A strong brand is one built on a good foundation. It’s built on truth. It can withstand the criticism and the naysayers. It endures because its truth overcomes any doubt, negativity, or challenge. It is rock-solid.

I want to be branded by The Scarlet Letters. The ones in the Bible. I want people to look at me and immediately see Jesus. I want to open my mouth and Jesus’s words flow out. I know myself and I know that won’t always happen. I am human, but I want to try my best. Rather than a punishment, I consider it an honor to be set apart. And guess what? The truth of those Scarlet Letters will overcome any doubt or negativity. They are certainly the most solid foundation you could ever stand on.

So stand with me. Like I’ve committed to God, let’s become fully immersed in The Scarlet Letters.
